Course Objectives:
This intensive course aims to equip students with essential academic writing skills and further enhance their analytical reading ability. The course commences with an introduction of an essay structure and essential reading skills, moving on to cover the most frequently used types of essays, letter writing, and contemporary issues and topics.
Upon completing the course, students are expected to achieve the following goals:
-to compose a unified and coherent essay to narrate, describe causes & effects, define, and argue
-to make complaints, inquiries and in a letter/email
-to read analytically and critically
-to further enhance essential academic vocabulary and knowledge of grammatical usages
